“Beyond the Labyrinth” Announced for 3DS

Japanese gaming news source Famitsu’s website has published some images from an upcoming game by developers Konami and Tri-Ace for the Nintendo 3DS. “Beyond the Labyrinth” (sadly not a tie-in with the cult 80s Jim Henson film) is so far described as a “dungeon RPG” and is being directed by Takayuki Suguro, whose games include Valkyrie Profile 2 and Resonance of Fate.

Details so far are rather scant. Prominent in the released screenshots is a young girl, who may or may not be the protagonist. What we can tell from the images is that this is set to be one of the most impressive games we’ve seen so far on the new handheld. Famitsu will feature an interview in their weekly magazine in a few weeks with staff from Konami and Tri-Ace, so we can expect more details then.

In the mean time, all we can do is drool at the pretty pictures and hope for Bowie.
