No More Heroes 3 Coming to Wii U?

In a recent interview conducted by Destructoid’s Jonathan Holmes with my personal gaming hero Suda 51, CEO of Grasshopper Manufactures and director of the amazing No More Heroes series, Suda let slip that we might be seeing the next instalment in the No More Heroes franchise heading to Wii U.

“I was at the Nintendo booth yesterday and today, and I actually had a chance to take the Wii U into my own hands. And as soon as I grabbed it things started swirling in my head. I don’t know if it’s going to be one male character. It seems like maybe there’s a possibility that I may come up with some ideas. I’ll leave it at that for now and we’ll see what happens. Of course I can’t reveal who that guy is in my head.”

Who could Suda be referring to by suggesting that it might not be one main character like we’ve seen in previous games with the protagonist as Travis Touchdown?  Suda has hinted in the past that he thought it might be best to leave Travis’ story at No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle and develop other characters in the franchise. There has also been talk of Shinobu becoming the lead character, only time will tell. You can watch the third part of the Destructoid interview, discussing Wii U and Shadows of the Damned below.

I also noticed while scouring Twitter around the E3 time a little post from Suda pop up, “WiiU体験。奴の顔が頭に浮かんだ,” which can be roughly translated as ‘The Wii U experience. His face comes to mind.’ Let’s just hope he is referring to Travis!

Although we know nothing for sure, we can assume from this interview that Suda definitely has big plans for the Wii U, and whatever it is – I’m sold.
