Dragon Quest X On Wii U?

During a shareholders meeting today, Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada seemed to confirm that Square Enix will consider giving the game some support for Nintendo’s upcoming console, Wii U. When asked whether the game, currently scheduled for Wii, would be released on Wii U, Wada reportedly replied:

“We are thinking that we must release the game for both the Wii and Wii U. We’re currently at the point of looking at how we can make it a Wii U launch title.”

Whether this would simply be a graphically polished version of the Wii version or would have extra content is unclear and it must be stressed that this quote is not confirmation of Dragon Quest X’s existance on Wii U but, it does however, show that Square Enix are at-least looking into the possibilities of the game making an appearance on the upcoming system.

Dragon Quest IX released in July 2010 in North America and Europe and has sold over 1 million copies in these territories. The game has a score of 87/100 on Metacritic and recieved 40/40 from Japanese gaming publication, Famitsu.
