Xenoblade Chronicles Release Date Pushed Forward!

Nintendo’s latest addition to the Wii RPG catalogue is now set for release on the 19th August, where as it had originally been scheduled for release in the UK on the 2nd September.

If you, like myself, had the opportunity to play a bit of the game earlier this year at the London MCM Expo, you will agree that it is definitely one of the biggest releases due for the Wii. But probably the best thing about the game is its amazing soundtrack – the song Gaur Plains is the highlight for me. This is probably the first Wii game I’ve been excited about since the release of No More Heroes 2; and with good reason. The game’s landscapes are very vast and Nintendo claims that Xenoblade Chronicles has over 100 hours worth of gameplay to enjoy. The story surrounds two races; the Mechon (robots) and the Homs (humans) who are in battle to gain control over the world. The combat is in real-time so there’s none of that taking turns business you see in Final Fantasy games, and no random encounter battles! It sold reasonably well in Japan after release and also received good scores for a new RPG.

If this hasn’t tempted you to fork out your money yet, just check out the special pre-order bundle you can grab from GAME or Gamestation before release. The pre-order bundle comes with a Classic Controller Pro in red, three exclusive posters signed electronically by the founder of Monolith Software, Tetsuya Takashi and a reversable cover including the alternative artwork, which was chosen by fans on a recent online poll.

Nintendo still has no plans to release Xenoblade Chronicles in the US, but if sales go well in the PAL territories it is likely that they will reconsider.

So the big question is; are you going to pre-order Xenoblade Chronicles? It certainly looks like a game that will keep you entertained over the Summer holidays! Let us know in the comments section down below.
