Nintendo Still Doesn’t Own the Wii U Website Domain

It has been revealed recently that Nintendo had filed the necessary trademarks for the Wii U in the U.S. but the possible website domain is in the hands of an unknown person.

The website in question, wiiu.com, was actually registered in June (presumably the day of Wii U’s reveal) and had 3,000 hits back then but now, traffic has slowed down.

According to Fusible, the owner of wiiu.com is hidden behind Whois privacy and currently is a Shopping.com affiliate site that displays videogame and console ads.

We can expect Nintendo to secure the domain in the near future.

You would think Nintendo would have taken care of this weeks before they were going to announce the name. It will probably be something like Wii-U.com when they get the address.
