Big Announcement From Nintendo Next Month

The Japanese blogger Andriasang has posted a report, based on sources from Inside Games, that Nintendo will be making a ‘big announcement’ on the 13th September. The site’s sources say that Nintendo is planning on announcing an ‘extremely big title’.

Andriasang explains that word of the announcement first came about when a Bloomberg article discussed the sudden spike in Nintendo’s share price:

Tokai Tokyo Financial Holdings analyst Yusuke Kakuda told Bloomberg that the spike was caused by reports that Nintendo would be holding a 3DS-related event on the 13th. Nintendo has not yet officially announced any such event.

It is interesting to note that the supposed date of the announcement (13th September) is near to the start of the Tokyo Game Show (which Nintendo Scene editor Stuart Oswald will be reporting from), as it commences on the 15th through to the 18th.

What could this ‘extremely big title’ be? As this year also happens to be Metroid‘s anniversary as well as The Legend of Zelda‘s, could we be seeing a brand new Metroid game on the 3DS? Or maybe something even bigger? Let us know what you think in the comments section down below.

Please note this is a rumour, and so is unconfirmed by Nintendo themselves, although has been confirmed by various sources at Inside Games in Japan.
