Nintendo Responds To PETA Claims

Nintendo has today responded to the outrageous claims made by the PETA, who yesterday launched a campaign against Mario. Nintendo have stated that Mario’s animal-type transformations are “lighthearted” and “whimsical”.

Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games.

These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play.

The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves.

This whole situation seems to just be PETA trying to get some cheap publicity for themselves. Mario had a Tanooki suit in SMB3 which was 20 years ago, didn’t hear anybody complaining back then

Everybody in the world knows Mario’s suits are lighthearted and whimsical. Somebody at PETA was obviously bored, or did it for a bet.

Nintendo said all that needs saying. No point pandering to what basically amounts to trolling from an organisation that really ought to know better.
