What Is On The Horizon? New Pokemon Announcement – Coming Soon!

A few months ago now it was revealed that The Pokemon Company would be making their debut appearance at the Japanese anime and manga show Jump Festa, in Tokyo on the weekend of the 17th – 18th of Decemeber. Other companies attending the event include; Namco Bandai, Nintendo, SEGA, Konami, Capcom, Tecmo Koei, PlayStation and Square Enix. Today it was been announced that there will be a surprise Pokemon announcement at the show, as it is common for games companies to announce new releases at shows such as Jump Festa.

While it is currently known was this announcement will be, whether it will take the form of a new game, movie or a new manga, it is definitely a weekend that all Pokemon fans should take note of. Nintendo Scene will be keeping a close eye on this event, and bringing you all the news as it happens.

Most fans are hoping for a new Pokemon game for the 3DS console, however not another spin-off like the newly released Pokemon Rumble Blast. Whether this means GameFreak will follow their tradition of releasing a third edition of the Black and White generation (Pokemon Grey perhaps?) as suspected previously in an April edition of Japanese Dengeki magazine, or are they developing the first games in the next Generation (Generation VI).

Are you looking forward to this announcement? I for one hope it will be a brand new game, incorporating fresh and innovative new ideas for the series – but it’s unlikely GameFreak will stray far from their almost perfect formula.

New Super Pokemon Rumble is out in the UK in 7 days time (Friday 2th December), take a sneaky peek at the official trailer here.
