US Nintendo Direct Report

Anyone have a craving for Nintendo News? I know I do. So without further delay, lets dive right into it, there’s a lot to talk about.

Dillon’s Rolling Western is a game that was announced a while back but not too much was known about it. It did gain a fan base that wanted to see this game soon and players have received the news they wanted to hear. It was announced today that Dillon’s Rolling Western will be available for the eShop for download today. The game seems to be part Action and part Strategy. Action in the battles with various enemies and Strategy in item collecting so you can have the necessary materials to build town defense mechanisms to protect the townspeople and their livestock. This looks like it could be must-have for eShop fans.

Nintendo went into more details about the multi-player modes in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Team battles and online multi-player modes seem to be must have modes in this era of gaming. Other battle modes are: Light VS Dark (a variation on team battle) Free-For-All (the basic online beat-em-up) as well as weapon fusion. Players can use the weapons they collect in the main story and use them in multi-player battles as well as set a weapon to be used in Streetpass mode and other players can attain that weapon. Pre-order the game to get a download code for the 3D remade Kid Icarus. Anyone who never had a chance to play the original would be crazy to pass this up.

Finally it seems that Nintendo knows what they’re doing when it comes to the 3DS, bringing out the right games at just the right time. Mario Tennis is getting a new title for the system when Mario Tennis Open hits store shelves May 20th. From the trailer, it looks like the game will be easy to control and have a faster pace to it. I just hope it doesn’t rely too much on special shots like I felt the GameCube version did. It will have online play as well as local wireless play and the one I like the best is the “Random Match” online feature where you can play different people with similar skills. I know how much of a pain it can be to finally find someone to play online and then have them beat you so badly, you don’t even want to play the game anymore. Also Mario Tennis Open will support Gyro controls to look around the court but I usually feel that Gyro controls is just “bells and whistles” to most games, not needed but adds something to the game.

We here at Nintendo Scene have covered much of the major developments within our News Pages. Trailers are available on the Nintendo YouTube Page as well as their homepage to check out everything from the Nintendo Direct video and new game videos. It looks like it’s going to be a good time to be a Nintendo Fan!
