GAME Cancels All The Last Story Pre-Orders A Day Before Release

First, they take away The Last Story Limited Edition bundle. Now they are taking away ALL pre-orders for The Last Story, which is out tomorrow. Consumers that have pre-ordered the game have been notified that their pre-orders have been cancelled.

Hi,

Unfortunately we are no longer stocking The Last Story on Wii. If you return to the store they will be happy to refund your £5.00 deposit.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused.

What do you guys think? Did you have your copy pre-ordered with GAME? Or was it else where?

  1. Elliott J says:

GAME are well known for their pre-order screwups, last game I pre-ordered through them was Smash Bros Brawl and they didn’t ship it out until 2 weeks after the launch date.
With the way things are economically at the moment, things are tough enough on game retailers as it is without them doing things like this – the only people who’ll suffer for it are the poor suckers who pre-ordered it from them, and GAME themselves.

  2. I think this is more than a ‘screw up’. This is yet another symptom of the trouble that GAME are in. I seriously think that by the end of the year, the UK won’t have a high street game retailer anymore. That’s a real shame, as a high street presence is a great way to promote and raise awareness of gaming. Too many people, without the awareness GAME brings about, will think that games are just those things you download on your phone for 99p. Troubling.
