Time-Travel in New Inazuma Eleven 3DS

Everyone’s favourite football RPG is back, and this time Level-5 have taken a new turn in gameplay… Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino has announced via his twitter account that information for the upcoming 3DS game (known in Japan as Inazuma Eleven GO: Shine version or Dark version) will appear in the next issue of Japanese Coro Coro magazine, but as a teaser he said the new series would be a “time travel adventure”.

The tweet in question is as follows:

However, from the sounds of Akihiro Hino’s tweets, it isn’t just the game he is referring to, but rather a whole new collection of Inazuma Eleven products such as anime, manga and spin-off games. Hino has stated that the new Inazuma Eleven anime has already started production and the first episode is finished.

Check out the official Inazuma Eleven GO Shine/Dark trailer here, exclusive to the 3DS console:

Both Dark and Shine versions of the game are set to be released in Japan on 15th December 2012.

While the main gameplay of the Inazuma Eleven GO is the same, at the end of the game the main character (known to Westerners as Mark Evans, but in Japan is called Endo Mamoru) marries different girls depending on what versions of the game you have. So if you choose Shine you will marry Natsumi and if you choose Dark you will marry Fuyuka. The purple-haired Fuyuka looks slightly homelier than Natsumi.

It seems as though the game will be set around 10 years after the original trilogy of Inazuma Eleven games, revolving around a new younger cast, but bringing back your past favourite characters as mentors and coaches. Each version has different exclusive characters to scout for your football team and the new enemy teams are also different depending on which version you buy. Shine‘s enemies are “Unlimited Shining” and Dark‘s foes are “Ancient Dark”.
