Pokémon Fans Want A Wii U Game That Uses NFC
Nintendo failed to mention NFC during last weeks E3 2012 conference, and it is being said that Reggie Fils-Aime has been getting requests from Pokémon fans that a Pokémon game for the Wii U should utilise NFC.
Reggie said to GamaSutra:
“There’s a lot of things that can be done. I’ve already gotten letters from Pokemon fans wishing we would do something with it.”
Near Field Communication allows gamers to place cards or figures onto the Wii U GamePad which can then be used in games. This was recently seen during the leaked Rayman Legends trailer. Skylanders is also an example that used NFC for the Wii last year.
Some say that it would be great to see a Pokémon game use NFC in the same way that Skylanders does. I’m a big Pokémon fan myself, but this is something I don’t want to see. With over 600 Pokémon, and judging on the Skylanders figures being sold between €7-€10 a figure, you do the math.
Would you punish your wallet for a Pokémon game that used NFC?
I’d rather have a Pokemon game, regardless of system, that played as an MMORPG

I’m trying to buy a new game for my hubby… what game would you suggest? He likes action games.

I think that this would be good if they used generic Poke Balls instead of specific figurines. This way, it would feel more like the player is an actual Pokemon trainer, the player could switch which Pokemon is in each Poke Ball, and no one would have to break their wallet.
Just an idea.
