Nintendo Nominated In Seven Categories At This Year’s Golden Joystick Awards

Nintendo games have been nominated in seven different categories at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards including the big one: Ultimate Game of the Year!

This year marks the Golden Joystick Awards’ 30th Anniversary and Nintendo games have made it into the nominations for the Action-Adventure, RPG, Handheld, Download, One To Watch, Top Gaming Moment and Ultimate Game Of The Year categories.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has three nominations with Best Action Adventure, Top Gaming Moment and Ultimate Game of the Year!

The Handheld category is jam-packed with Nintendo games! Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Resident Evil Revelations are all in the mix and could give the public a hard time in choosing! Kid Icarus: Uprising and Resident Evil Revelations are also up for Ultimate Game of the year with Revelations also taking a nomination in the Best Gaming Moment category!

Popular puzzle title Pullblox is the sole Nintendo representative in the Download category but two hotly anticipated Wii U games are in the One To Watch category with ZombieU and Pikmin 3!

Unlike at the BAFTA awards, the winners of the Golden Joysticks are determined by you the gamers! So head on over to the Official Golden Joysticks website to put down your votes for your favourite games now! By voting you’ll automatically get entered into the HMV Ultimate Gaming Prize, £4000 worth of goodies featuring an iPad 3 and a Samsung Galaxy S3!

Once all the votes are in the ceremony itself will take place on 26th October at Westminster Park Plaza hotel. I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic night no matter who wins!

What do you guys think? Which games deserve the accolades? What do you think of Mario Kart 7 being snubbed in the Best Racer category? Bit harsh I feel…
