New Super Mario Bros 2 Outsells New Super Mario Bros on Launch in the UK

Recent 3DS release New Super Mario Bros 2 has outsold its predecessor, New Super Mario Bros, on launch in the UK by a whopping 29.4 percent! Not a bad feat at all!

The game has sold well at launch with plenty of fans eager to get collecting a million coins but there’s certainly a long way to go before it matches the overall sales of the original game which has shipped well over 29 million copies worldwide!

Meanwhile in Japan of all the sales of New Super Mario Bros 2, 5 percent of them were digital downloads. It’s a little unclear whether or not this figure takes into account those who bought the digital copy of the game from a retailer as well as those who bought from the 3DS eshop but nevertheless it shows that there are some people out there (well in Japan at least) warming to digital downloads, even if it is only 5 percent…

What do you all think? Are you enjoying the game? Do you think it’s better or worse than its predecessor? We’d love to know what your thoughts are!
