Wii U Internet Browser Supports HTML5 But Not Flash

Nintendo have revealed some details about the Wii U’s internet browser and it looks to be the best yet. As reported in Nintendo World Report the browser will most notably support HTML5 but will not support Flash. HTML5 is fast becoming the language of choice for websites as displayed by YouTube who already have an HTML5 version set up.

The browser will have tab browsing and allows the gyro controls to be used to scroll through pages. There’s also an interesting feature that allows you to pause your current gaming session and access the browser. When you do so the browser will remember what you were playing and use this information to enhance any of your search queries while also giving you access to screenshots and images from the TV screen and GamePad screen which you may find useful. You could throw them up on the MiiVerse if you’re stuck or wondering what to do next, your friends would see it and they might be able to help you out.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata showed off some features of the internet browser during last week’s Japanese Wii U Preview presentation, take a look at the video below to see some of them for yourself.
