Assassin’s Creed III Mini-Documentary Finishes Revealing More “New Ingredients”


The final instalment of the Assassin’s Creed III developer’s diary has been released and it shows off some new abilities like stalking kills, historical colonial cities, naval battles and a whole host of “new ingredients.”

During the mini-documentary, Creative Director Alex Hutchinson, goes on record to say the game is “by far biggest and best Assassin’s game yet.”

Of course many people who pick up a Wii U may not have played the other Assassin’s Creed games as they were mainly on other consoles. If you’re one of those people then Alex Hutchinson has reassuring words for you:

“If you haven’t played any Assassin’s Creed games before, this is a really good place to come on board. For new fans, this is as good as it gets.”

As we’ve known before Assassin’s Creed III will feature naval warfare and this is where the Wii U comes into its own to create the best gaming experience. The Wii U GamePad will show a map on the screen showing you where enemy ships are and the line of fire for your cannons.

The trailer also shows off the frontier which is a massive expanse of wilderness for you to explore and engage with. In it there are two dozen species of animals including bears and wolves, plenty of snow which will slow you (and your enemies) down, and a few things to play around with like tree running and hunting. Team Lead AI & Gameplay, Aleissia Laidacker says “the frontier is really our new playground.”

Associate Producer, Philippe Ducharme has confirmed that “In total it’s over 30 hours of gameplay and we have two hours and a half of cinematics.” That’s not bad at all and should keep you busy for quite a while!
