Nintendo: Production And Shipping Targets Will Be Met
Nintendo have confirmed with CVG that they still intend to meet their shipping targets for the Wii U despite suggestions production would be hit due to a reported factory fire in Japan.
Australian analyst David Gibson, who works for the Australian bank Macquarie in Tokyo, said in a tweet that Nintendo had downgraded the production of Wii U units by 1 million to 7.3 million because of the reported fire in an unknown factory.
Nintendo have since confirmed with CVG however that there has been no impact on production or shipping.
“As of now, we see no impacts on our Wii U console production scheme”.
Our thoughts are with those affected by the fire, hopefully nobody was seriously injured.
The Wii U will be on the shelves 18th November in the US, 30th November in Europe and 8th December in Japan. Will you be picking one up? Have you pre-ordered or are you waiting it out a little? Let us know!
