Awesome New Nintendo Crossover Costumes Announced For Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition

Ever wanted to see who would win in a fight between Paul Phoenix and Toad from the Mario universe? Don’t even try to deny it because I know for a fact that you have. And I am pleased to announce that your dreams are soon to become a reality because three new (and ever so slightly random) Nintendo-themed costumes have been announced for Tekken Tag Tournament 2. You already know the first; A certain Mr Toad. Also announced are Sheik from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Captain Falcom from F-Zero.

Also announced was the return of an old favourite, Tekken Ball mode, which has not featured in a Tekken game since Tekken 3. It’s been quite some time, Tekken Ball, and we’ve missed you. The basic premise of Tekken Ball remains unchanged, punch or kick an oversized ball into your opponent to cause them damage but staying on your toes is vital as they can not only dodge the gall but also whack it back at you. There will be different ball types to choose from and two modes: Tournament and Exhibition.

So there you have it. The ability to fight as Toad and chuck beach balls at other people. What more could you possibly ask for in a fighting game? Has this announcement got you wanting to queue up on release day or what? Because seriously, if being able to kick Heihachi Mishima in the head as Toad doesn’t make you want to play this game right now then you might want to seek professional help.

  1. I have a need to buy this game, solely around the fact that it includes Nintendo costumes.. Odd, I know.

Oh and best of luck with Nintendo Scene Hannah, good to see a new face!
