Nintendo Confirm Wii Bundle Price Cut… For the US
It has been announced today by Nintendo of America that the price of a shiny new Wii (that sentence sounds odd but bare with me) is to be slashed to just $129.99 on the 28th October. For the equivalent of just over £80, American customers will receive not only a sleek black Wii console, Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuck but also old favourites Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. On one disk, might I add. Handy, eh?
Baring in mind that this price cut will come into effect just three weeks before the launch of the Wii U in the US, Scott Moffit, head of NOA’s sales and marketing, is convinced that the fabulously affordable price will attract late adopters in time for the Christmas period. Moffit says (which is not just a strange variation of ‘Simon Says’):
“A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for great value this holiday season.”
What do you think? Will American families choose this newly cheap Wii bundle for Christmas or skip the Wii altogether and dive straight in to the Wii U like it’s some sort of… I don’t know… Swimming pool… OF NINTENDO LOVELINESS?
