A Bucketload Of New 3DS Game Trailers In Today’s Nintendo Direct
Today’s Nintendo Direct presentation mainly focused on the upcoming 3DS games and let the Wii U take a bit of a breather. Watch the video below and you will see a variety of soon to be released titles for your 3DS… Not to mention the rather snazzy music in the background.. Enough of that though, on to the games!
First up is Paper Mario: Sticker Star. This game is really shaping up well and looks a tonne of fun to play, the recognisable Paper Mario aesthetics and humour are still very much present. There is a lovely-looking moment where an army of parachuting Bob-ombs can be seen floating to the ground around Mario, some in the background and some right up close in the foreground. This is going to look beautiful in full 3D!
Next up is Scribblenaughts Unlimited, which seems to be a vast improvement on its predecessors. The graphics in particular, although luckily still cutely cartoony, seem more defined. LEGO The Lord of the Rings follows next, full of studs and characters and looking vast and explorable.
On to Sonic & All-stars Racing Transformed now. Let’s face it, this will never replace Mario Kart in our hearts but it certainly does do a good job of offering an alternative to Mario’s karting antics. It seems Sega have gone all Mario Kart 7 on us and implemented water and flying tactics.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion shows off its promising levels based on the Disney movies ‘Tangled’ and ‘Peter Pan’ and Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 3D‘s physics and looks seem set to rival FIFA 13 3D… Maybe.
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (although I still prefer ‘and the Mask OF Miracle but FINE, Nintendo) is actually out tomorrow. It’s late trailer shows us exactly what the finished game is like, the dialogue is jazzed up with moving characters and some three-dimensional puzzling is evident. It’s great to see that Level-5 are going to implement a mixture of puzzle types, including ones that test your spacial awareness through the use of 3D.
Being a bit of an Adventure Time fanatic, I’m getting a little excited about the prospect of the upcoming game Adventure Time: Hey, Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!! It’s a traditional 2D platformer (although in 3D) and has the exact same art style as the cartoon, giving you the sense that it are controlling an episode of the show. I’m glad to see that you will be able to use Jake’s special abilities to progress through obstacles too. Algebraic!
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is going to be an all-action monster-slaying thrill ride and the weapons and features are looking bigger and better than ever. In the Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan trailer we see a short but sweet clip of how the mechanics of finding and attacking creatures will work.
The Fire Emblem Awakening trailer really is quite pretty… *blushes*. Beautiful graphics feature in both the cutscenes and battle sections. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is also shaping up very well, looking almost as stunning as Fire Emblem. It looks interesting the way a chain is being used to constrain and attack an enemy.
Last but absolutely not least we have Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, a highly anticipated return for the other brother. This time around we can see the green scardycat floating skywards using some sort of balloon attached to the Poltergust 5000! That’s a new element.
So,there you have it. THIRTEEN new trailer clips for THIRTEEN wonderful upcoming 3DS games. But what do you think of these new mini-trailers? Have any changed your thoughts about a game or reaffirmed your faith that a certain game is going to be all-out amazingness on release day?
