Nintendo Download (Europe – 1st November): Trick Or Treat?

Nintendo are partaking in a spot of trick or treating this week with their download offerings; some of them look pretty tasty while others may leave a sour taste in your mouth.

Arguably the biggest release this week is Monster Shooter on the 3DS eShop, a game that sees you shooting monsters funnily enough. This marks the series’ leap onto a dedicated gaming device and Gamelion have pulled out all the stops with 60 levels to blast through as well as 20 perks to unlock. It remains to be seen if this game will be worth picking up but if it improves on the already solid smartphone iterations then it could be an absolute treat! It’s a fairly costly £6.29/€6.99 if you wish to download it, but there’s a lot in there to keep you going.

UFO Interactive’s Samurai G is the other piece of download software available to download through the 3DS eShop this week. You play as Tetsuo, a samurai who must leg it through levels, slicing and dicing rival assassins while collecting gold along the way. It’s pretty cheap, only £1.79/€1.99, but something tells me this is a trick…

The 3DS Virtual Console isn’t being left on the doorstep this week, with Konami’s classic, Gradius, being available to download. Originally on the NES, the game is an old-school shooter that sees you blasting your way through enemies, collecting capsules and upgrading your weaponry. It may look old and dated now, but this is a nostalgic history lesson that I’m sure many will be downloading! It’s  £4.59/€4.99 if you want to shoot the core!

CIRCLE Entertainment have been busy releasing DSiWare titles recently, with 18th Gate and Bookstore Dream being released a couple of weeks ago, and this week they’ve got even more to offer with Come On! Dragons. The game is a bit of a tower defence game that sees you shooting arrows at deadly dragons that attempt to siege your fort. It’s only  200 points (£1.80) should you want to fend off some overgrown lizards.

WiiWare also has a new title available for download this week with UFA Lab’s Back To Nature, a game that has you helping Gert the cockerel, Bla the donkey, Rosi the pig and Susi the sheep find their friend Tom the cat who’s gotten himself lost in the forest. It’ll set you back 500 precious points (£3.50) should you want to help out.

They’re the main offerings this week but there’s also a 3DS demo available to download and a discount to be had!

The 3DS demo comes in the form of New Style Boutique Fashion Contest, which is known as Style Savvy: Trendsetters (Iwata’s favourite game) in North America. As you may have guessed it’s a fashion game that has you selecting the perfect outfits for models. If that sounds like your thing then why not download it? It’s free!

That discount I promised is attached to Art of Balance TOUCH!, the shape positioning puzzler that’s been on the 3DS eShop for a while now. It’s usually £6.30/€7 but for one week only you can beam it onto your 3DS for just £4.49/€4.99.

So a bit of a mixed bag of goodies this week that will be sweet or sour depending on what your gaming tastes are. All of the new games will be available to download from Thursday 1st November. Will you be downloading any of them? Let us know!

That picture makes me want to cry… Poor kitty 😦

But yes, I’ll download the 3DS demo, purely because I always do. Erm, I think I’ll delete it straight after I’ve tried it though.
