Sega Confirms New Sonic Titles On The Way

Sega have confirmed that there will be several Sonic games coming in the next year, though at this stage we do not know which platforms they will be on.

In an interview with Toys ‘N’ Playthings, Sega’s European head of brand licensing Sissel Henno mostly spoke about the company’s merchandising plans for the future but she also revealed they intend to launch several titles over the next twelve months.

“Over the next year there will be a big focus across the toy distribution across Europe. Similarly, we will also be growing the apparel, publishing and stationary categories. We will have several new digital titles launching as well as a new boxed game, so there will be plenty of opportunities to link marketing campaigns across games and merchandise.”

The boxed game in question could well be Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, which is available on the Wii U on launch, however there appears to be some digital titles on the horizon as well. Could we be seeing Sonic on the Nintendo eShop soon? Only time will tell.

Would you like to see some Sonic titles made available on the Wii U eShop?
