Wii U Will Require Update To Unlock Certain Features
You would think that on day one of launch the Wii U would have everything you’d need installed onto it but this is not the case. In fact for users to gain access to such features as Nintendo eShop, Miiverse, Nintendo TVii, and Wii U Chat an upgrade will need to be downloaded first.
Worry not though as this update will be available on day one as well. So once you’ve unpacked everything and set up your beautiful new console you’d best get it connected to the internet to download the necessary patch that will unlock the full potential of the Wii U.
Though this shouldn’t be a problem for most people without internet access as these features require an internet connection anyway, there is one missing element that could be a blow to those without a connection: Wii functionality. Yes, an update will also be required in order to play Wii games on your Wii U. So if you’re not connected to the internet you might want to keep hold of your Wii until you are.
