Nintendo brings Mario to Mobile in Apple Stream; Super Mario Run- Also announces Pokémon GO for Apple Watch

“The Magic of Mario is that anyone can pick up a game and instantly start playing, and this time we’ve made it even simpler to begin.”

Nintendo have just confirmed that they’ll be taking the plunge and bringing their bestselling IP “Super Mario” to iOS, announced by Shigeru Miyamoto himself in Apple’s current livestream.

Mario runs automatically to the right, and as he does he’ll hurtle over small gaps and certain enemies. It’s very simple and the movement feels great. With just a tap of a finger anywhere on the touch screen you can make Mario jump! And the longer you tap the higher he jumps- this is key to getting high scores. In later levels you will see blocks that will change Mario’s direction and others that will start and stop him with precision timing. But the goal remains simple; collect as many coins as you can and get to the flagpole at the end of the level before time runs out!

Miyamoto also says what’s different this time is the game is entirely one handed (leaving one hand free for eating a hamburger, or an apple). Super Mario Run brings with it a new battle mode called “Toad Rally” where you must impress as many toads you can by doing dangerous and impressive tricks for the highest score. Nintendo says the game will have a fixed price and no pay-to-win elements or further in-app purchases. Alongside this the app allegedly boasts both local and online multiplayer experiences. Furthermore a set of Super Mario themed stickers for iOS 10 will be coming our way.

Super Mario Run is set to release “in time for Holidays 2016”. Nintendo also confirmed that the groundbreaking App Pokémon GO will be coming to Apple Watch, sporting new user interfaces and in-game features.
