SNES Classic Mini Announced and Set for September Release!

As of 5pm BST today, Nintendo have announced that they are following up the hugely popular (and worryingly understocked) NES Mini with the SNES Classic Mini on 29th September. Much alike its predecessor, this little console (which fits pretty much into the palm of your hand) will plug into your TV and run 21 different classic SNES titles, including the unreleased SNES title StarFox 2. As a personal take on this, these games are definitely classics this time, unlike the slightly ropey selection on the NES Mini. There’s no solid price on it yet, but around about $70 (roughly £60) seems to be the strong guess at the moment.
The games for the SNES Mini are:
– Contra III
– EarthBound
– Final Fantasy VI
– F-ZERO
– Kirby: Super Star
– Kirby’s Dream Course
– The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
– Mega Man X
– Secret of Mana
– Star Fox
– Star Fox 2
– Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
– Super Castlevania IV
– Super Ghouls and Ghosts
– Super Mario Kart
– Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
– Super Mario World
– Super Metroid
– Super Punch-Out!
– Yoshi’s Island
